Leave Your Nets

Throughout the Gospel of Luke, people encountered Jesus in ordinary moments, unexpected places, and difficult circumstances.  Some came searching for answers, others came desperate for healing, and many simply found themselves in the right place when Jesus stepped into their lives.  In Luke 5, Peter was simply doing what he had always done—fishing—but an encounter with Jesus changed the direction of his entire life. Jesus met Peter in his disappointment, challenged him to trust again, and called him to leave his nets and follow Him.  This opening message invites us to begin this journey with open and expectant hearts, believing that an encounter with Jesus can meet us where we are, transform who we are, and call us into who we are becoming.  Because when we truly encounter Jesus, we are never the same.
